48th Anniversary of National Independence in Unity, Pride, and Peace Honored to take part in the F.A.D ceremony, the Mayor saluted the bravery of the Chief of the General Staff, General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim, and the loyalty of the Djiboutian Armed Forces. Indeed, after the festive journey that energized communities across the interior regions, the Harbi Group concluded yesterday, with pride and celebration, its musical caravan dedicated to commemorating the 48th anniversary of national independence at Cheikh Osman Camp. In this context, the Mayor of the City of Djibouti, Mr. Said Daoud Mohamed, had the honor of attending the evening that marked the closing of the commemorative festivities organized by the Harbi Group under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim. Invited by the Chief of the General Staff himself, the Mayor received an exceptional welcome upon his arrival at the venue inside Cheikh Osman Military Camp. Senior officials from the various branches of the Djiboutian Armed Forces—such as the Republican Guard, the Coast Guard, the Police, the Gendarmerie, and Civil Protection—also marked the occasion with their presence, alongside numerous officers and rank-and-file members of the F.A.D. Renowned for its unwavering attachment to republican principles and values, the historic Harbi Group has continued to strengthen its closeness, solidarity, and steadfast support for the people of Djibouti. Steeped in a noble sense of patriotism and an atmosphere of unity and serenity, the ceremony began with the recitation of a Quranic verse, followed by patriotic songs and sketches performed by the legendary Harbi Group. The most solemn moment of the evening came during the flag-raising ceremony, with the national colors hoisted high, and the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and sovereignty. By his participation, the Mayor reaffirmed the strong bond between the capital and its armed forces. A fervent admirer of the F.A.D, the Mayor of Djibouti City humbly thanked the Chief of the General Staff, General Zakaria Cheikh Ibrahim, for the honor he received and commended his leadership, loyalty, and courage in advancing the development and modernization of our Armed Forces. "In the name of the municipality and in my personal capacity, I wish to express our deep respect and gratitude to the Djiboutian Armed Forces, the guardians of peace and security in our country," declared the Mayor at the close of the event.
