The city hall : Operations Progressing Smoothly..

Date de l'événement : 2025-06-03

Since the launch of the third phase of the bulky waste removal program, and under the directives of our visionary leader, the Mayor of the city, Mr. Saïd Daoud Mohamed, the technical teams of the municipality, along with the city's technical partners, have been tirelessly conducting operations to remove abandoned vehicle carcasses from public roads, particularly in the streets and alleys of the popular neighborhoods of the Boulaos commune. These operations, part of the mayor's flagship project "Djibouti Zero Waste," and under the "Clean City" initiative, are also aligned with the preparations for the 48th anniversary of our country's independence. The efforts have intensified effectively and encouragingly in Boulaos over the past two days. While much work remains, we take pride and great satisfaction in observing a noticeable decrease in the number of bulky wastes in this region of our beloved capital city. A notable highlight of our operations was the removal of a taxi carcass that had obstructed a street in Quartier 7 Bis for decades. To our great surprise, its removal prompted immediate satisfaction among residents, who quickly took the initiative to clean and restore the area to a state of cleanliness. A similar situation occurred at another site, where, at the request of a family, the removal of an old Mercedes carcass revitalized the neighborhood. Driven by the mayor's initiative, the fight continues for a city free of carcasses and in anticipation of a joyful national celebration.
