To restore Djibouti’s capital to its former glory, improve urban fluidity and safety, and combat urban disorder that disrupts residents’ daily lives.
The meeting room at City Hall was filled with a serious yet determined atmosphere. Al Burruj, a technical partner, plays a key role in logistics, removal, and waste sorting. In the future, the municipality even envisions a digital tracking platform to map sensitive areas and measure operation impact.
This campaign reflects a clear political will: to restore public authority in urban spaces. It responds to citizens’ demands, often frustrated by rampant urban anarchy. Additionally, it aims to boost the city’s attractiveness, aligning with Djibouti’s regional hub ambitions—not only economically and logistically but also as a sustainable and tourism-friendly city.
By launching this initiative, Mayor Said Daoud Mohamed sends an unequivocal message: Djibouti will no longer tolerate urban disorder.
Cleaning public spaces, restoring order, and improving quality of life are now shared priorities. After all, a modern capital is built not through passivity but through collective action and decisiveness.
In the battle against wrecked vehicles, City Hall is no longer just cleaning—it is taking bold action.
