The President of the Republic, Al-Hadj Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, marked with his presence the official launch of the National Solidarity Week, which was held at the Ali Sabieh sports complex. This emblematic initiative, which has been on the national agenda for seventeen years, goes beyond a simple moment of mobilization to embody the very essence of the Djiboutian identity: solidarity, cohesion and unity. Driven by the political vision of the Head of State, this week dedicated to solidarity reflects a constant commitment to building a united nation, where each citizen plays a role in collective development. Alongside the Head of State and the First Lady, Marwo Kadra Mahamoud Haid, the Mayor of the Capital, Mr. Said Daoud Mohamed, marked this founding event with his presence. Accompanied by an impressive delegation, including the okals of the city of Djibouti, the presidents of the communes and local elected officials, the First Edile recalled, through his involvement, the central role of the capital in the influence of national values. As a prelude to the official ceremony, Mayor Said Daoud had organized, the day before, a musical evening dedicated to cultural diversity and the spirit of national solidarity. On the esplanade of the residence of the Honorable Charmaké Moussa Arreh, artists and citizens celebrated together what makes Djibouti strong: its unity in plurality. “Tonight, we are all Assajog, Beninjog, Inkitino, Midnimo, Al-Wayda,” declared Said Daoud in a speech filled with lyricism, illustrating this communion that transcends tribal and regional affiliations. Solidarity Week, the cornerstone of Vision 2035, bears witness to President Guelleh’s unwavering commitment to the most vulnerable. Since its creation, this initiative has aimed to establish solidarity as a pillar of the national policy to combat poverty. It invites each Djiboutian to be an actor in his or her own development, while strengthening intergenerational and community ties. In an intervention granted to Warsantv24, Mayor Said Daoud praised the leadership of the Head of State: "Thank you to the Father of the Nation. Alongside our President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, we will continue to strengthen the links between generations to build a strong, united, prosperous and totally united Djibouti." Through his active participation in Ali Sabieh, the Mayor of the Capital reaffirmed the place of the municipality in this collective dynamic. The enthusiasm of the Assajog and Beninjog present testifies to the popular support for this vision of cohesion and inclusive development. Through this event, Djibouti is not only celebrating a week of solidarity: it is claiming an identity, a common project, and an ambition for the future. Under the leadership of President Guelleh, this flame of unity continues to shine, reminding each citizen that, in the face of challenges, solidarity remains the most powerful weapon.
