The Mayor of the city thanks the Prime Minister for his quick visit to the bedside of the families affected by the Djebel fire.
Saturday, January 4, 2025 - The Prime Minister, His Excellency Mr. Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, notably Vice-President of the RPP Party, went this morning to the bedside of the victims of the Djebel fire, a disaster which, on the night of Friday to Saturday, December 29, took about 60 families by surprise and burned at least 40 houses. Upon his arrival at the scene, the Prime Minister was greeted by neighborhood leaders present at the scene and members of the coordination and support committee for the victims of Djebel.
The opportunity first of all for the Prime Minister to present, on behalf of the President of the Republic and on behalf of the government as well as on his own behalf, his compassion and solidarity to the households affected by this fire.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister visited the scene of the disaster to see for himself the damage caused by the tragedy before speaking with the families. “Trapped by the flames, we had no way out – it is only by the Grace of God that we are saved..” explained to the Prime Minister, one of the survivors of this tragedy, Mrs. Safia Hogasadéh, mother of three children.
Deploring the complex tangle of houses nested in each other, and affected by the situation, the Prime Minister reassured the victims of his support to accelerate the procedure concerning the implementation of the neighborhood restructuring program, "with a view, he stressed, to allowing each household to no longer relive the same circumstance and to live under a decent roof.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister welcomed the assistance of the services of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity as well as the efforts and the momentum of citizen solidarity launched by the Mayor of the city, Mr. Said Daoud Mohamed. He also took note of the cleaning work carried out under the leadership of the Sub-Prefect of the 3rd district, Mr. Haybe Hared Gadid with the exemplary mobilization of the djebelois.
Comforted by this flash and unexpected visit of the Prime Minister, the families warmly thanked the Prime Minister for his attachment and support expressed towards them. Following this comforting visit, the Mayor of the capital, Hon. Said Daoud Mohamed wishes to express his thanks to the Prime Minister and Vice-President of the Popular Rally for Progress party, His Excellency Mr. Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed.
