Date de l'événement : 2025-01-03

The vibrant appeal launched last Saturday by the mayor of Djibouti City, Mr. Said Daoud Mohamed, continues to unite exemplary solidarity. This Thursday, a third food ration distribution operation was supervised by the mayor himself, for the benefit of families affected by the devastating fire that occurred in Djebel on December 28. Accompanied by the sub-prefect of the 3rd district, Mr. Haybe Hared Gadid, and the deputies Ali Zeid Chadily and Ibrahim Ahmed Abdo, the mayor also praised the key role of the Coordination and Support Committee for disaster victims. This committee, in collaboration with executives and the Djebéli diaspora, embodies an unprecedented mobilization. In a speech full of gratitude, Mr. Said Daoud Mohamed highlighted the generous gesture of MP Ali Zeid Chadily, describing his contribution as a model of Djiboutian solidarity: "The offer of these foodstuffs is a salutary act, a perfect example of the spirit of fraternity that animates our nation. I invite everyone to follow this example." Deputy Prefect Haybe Hared Gadid recalled the ongoing efforts of technical services to clean up disaster areas. "Solidarity is not just a word, it is experienced on the ground," he said, expressing his gratitude to donors and volunteers. This third initiative is part of a chain of solidarity actions initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity, followed by contributions from a local merchant and Qatar Charity. It reflects the collective desire to respond to the urgent needs of the sixty families who lost everything in the fire. The mayor concluded on a note of hope: "May this citizen mobilization serve as an inspiration for all the working-class neighbourhoods of Djibouti. Together, we will overcome this ordeal." translation : Nouria Omar Gaber
