A gesture of solidarity and comfort

Date de l'événement : 2024-12-28

In a gesture of compassion and generosity, Mayor Said Daoud visited the scene of the tragedy that struck the Djebel district. This morning visit, marked by sincere exchanges and attentive listening, bears witness to the profound humanism he demonstrates in the exercise of his functions. Last night, a devastating fire reduced around thirty homes to ashes, leaving around fifty families homeless. This historic district, full of memories and a strong cultural identity, has seen its community struck by a tragedy that highlights the social and humanitarian challenges that local authorities must face. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the mayor took the time to speak with the dean of the district, Hajiyat Aicha Hadada, a respected and emblematic figure. Wife of a taxi driver and mother of five grown children, including a young married man and a daughter with two children still living under her roof, Hajiyat Aicha embodies the resilience of the families of Djebel. The mayor, with remarkable kindness, listened to his testimony and promised to spare no effort to support the disaster-stricken families. Indeed, this tragedy, although heartbreaking, also reveals the unity and solidarity of the inhabitants of Djebel, supported by their mayor. Said Daoud’s actions embody exemplary leadership, where human proximity and sincere commitment serve as a compass in times of crisis. With gestures like these, the mayor of Djibouti City is not just managing administrative affairs: he is forging a deep bond with his constituents, thus strengthening trust and hope for better days.
